A Bit About Me

Paula Martinac has been writing since she was 7 years old and her parents gave her a Tom Thumb typewriter. She is a journalist, editor, novelist, nonfiction writer, playwright, and grammar queen. Her areas of special interest include social issues, history, women's issues, health, aging, the arts, popular culture, community development, education, and gay/lesbian topics. But she has also written on technology, public safety, the environment, and a variety of other issues. She is the author of three published novels, three published nonfiction books, and numerous articles. Her plays have been produced by Pittsburgh Playwrights Theatre Company, Ganymede Arts Festival, the Pittsburgh New Works Festival, and Womenscene. After 22 years in New York City, she moved back to her hometown of Pittsburgh in 2003 with her partner and their dog.
